Managing Burnout: How to Keep Your Side Business and 9-5 Job in Balance
With so many demands for our time (work, spouse, kids, and events for tribes we belong to) it can be difficult to find time for your business. Here are the top 3 tips to effectively balance your 9-5 and your business.
Rise and Grind: Seize the day by making the most of your morning. Take advantage of the quiet before everyone and everything starts demanding your attention, start your day with an early win, and get ahead while the competition is sleeping!
Self-care is non-negotiable: if you’re running on fumes, neither your business nor your 9-5 is getting your best. Make time to do things you enjoy. get your nails done, get a massage, take yourself out on a solo-dinner date. You cannot pour from an empty cup.
Schedule the work for your business: Organize time blocks to devote 1 to 3 hour blocks of time to your business. Set up non-negotiable routines (similar to brushing your teeth) where every day or certain time of day, you devote a period of time to progressing towards the realization of your dream (building your business).
Example: Sunday is for social media content filming and editing, Monday can be dedicated to production, and Thursday devoted to learning/developing a new skill.
